I need your help! Simple help really – less than a minute I’d reckon. I am undertaking a quest to receive from 100 people (or more!) what their top 3 challenges in life are. It’s that simple. I want to connect with you and anyone else who is willing to share what their top 3 challenges in life are. They can be challenges related to anything in your life you would like some guidance/advice/assistance with.

Listen to me for a few minutes for further details

I’ll start with my top 3 challenges

  • Challenge 1: Connecting with visitors of my website – I want to hear from you! You can re tweet (at the top), contact me (link at the top), leave comments, and Share/Bookmark at the end of every article I write.
  • Challenge 2: Trying to recover fully from lower back surgery I had at the end of January 2010.
  • Challenge 3: Showing that I earnestly care about you. This really is a community for getting help in your life, to take action, make progress, and complete ideas and dreams.

All you have to do

  • Fill out the contact form below with your top 3 challenges in life.
  • Share this page to anyone you know who could use some help with challenges. You can use the retweet button above, or click the ‘Share/Bookmark’ link at the bottom. Or you can just email the link to this page.

That’s it. There are no gimmicks. I WILL NOT use your email for any other reason than to communicate with you personally if needed. I promise that if you give me just a few minutes of your time, that I will provide value to you far greather than the few minutes you spend here. I will be addressing every problem sent to me, probably through a new article, but in some cases I will personally respond – all inquiries will be kept anonymous.

1. Contact me with your top 3 challenges – You can remain anonymous if you prefer, or put in your email if you want me to be able to contact you

*(denotes required field)

21 Responses to The Quest To Receive From 100 People Their Top 3 Challenges In Life

  1. You are helping so many people by doing this Jeremy, and I think that’s great. Keep up the great work, it will pay off if it hasn’t already.

  2. Jeremy says:

Thanks Jarrod – I appreciate your feedback and have looked over your responses – very informative :)

  3. Scott Barron says:

How do you decide what width to use for your Website template, so it shows properly on different monitors/screen resolutions? My laptop resolution is 1280 X 800. My Desktop is 1024 X 768 (and won’t increase).

I noticed that my webpage was perfect on with my laptop resolution, but too big for my desk top computer. Your website fits both my computers; however planting dollars is too big for my desk top.

It’s probably no big deal, I just don’t want people to arrow right and left on my homepage, but want everything to look proportionate on all monitors. Am I stupid?

  4. Jeremy says:

I have a 960 width ‘content’ area, which is pretty standard for a lot of websites – but most people are getting bigger monitors these days, so people are making use of more space. It’s pretty much a judgment call – if you’re not worried about a little scrolling for some people, go with the wider area.

  5. Scott Barron says:

How did you put the J to the left of the http in the address bar? Is that through the C panel in bluehost?

Side Note: I can’t find anything on how to make changes in the legacy file manager. The bluehost tutorials tells me how to get there, but not what I can do with it?

    Where can I learn more?

Also, what do the { } mean in CSS?
.-= Scott Barron´s last blog ..The Secret to You =-.

  6. Jeremy says:

The J was created as an image called a ‘favicon’ – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon

The { } in CSS are the styles for a particular part of an html page, for example:

    body { margin: 0 auto; width: 960px; } – http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_syntax.asp

each line gets a { } to put the styles in

I use Filezilla for copying files to and from Bluehost. You can use this as a reference: http://tutorials.bluehost.com/filezilla/

    Hope that helps :)

  7. Scott Barron says:

A favawho???. Lord have mercy, I’m still scratching my head on that one. I did it. The funny names & characters never stop…..

For the past couple days I’ve been considering throwing in the towel. This isn’t what I expected. The further ahead I think I am, I’m only further behind.
.-= Scott Barron´s last blog ..The Secret to You =-.

    • Jeremy says:

There definitely is a bit of terminology to learn and technology to keep up with.

I’ve thrown in the towel before in my life with projects. Sometimes it is the right thing to do. Others, it is not. But I believe there is a strength in persisting and persevering. Find out what it is you really want to share with the world. When you find that, go full steam on it.

I live for helping people create their dreams and ideas. What are your ultimate dreams and ideas? Why do you get up each and every day?

  8. Scott Barron says:

I was wrong, no favahow in Chrome…I see it on IE and Foxfire. Ugggg.

I don’t know what my dreams are. I get up each day because my dogs need food. Other than that, I haven’t seen the point lately….

I was wrongfully terminated last Nov. 09. Have not been able to find a job since.

As you can see from my website, I’m focusing on motivating thoughts and ideas. It’s really more therapy for myself. It gives me something to do while looking for a job. But it’s not what I expected. Originally I thought of blogging as an online diary. I was so wrong.

I also wanted to try my hand at the working from home and online business. Now I’m not sure if that’s for me. I LOVE being at home, but have no human interaction. Yes, this is a good thing, but really, there’s no reason to shower, shave and dress up.

Things are different at age 42. I think dreams are for the young. At my age I have more broken dreams than anything. I realize my life is more than 1/2 over. I realize I’m not where I imagined I would be at this age. I look at my parents & grandparents aging – and wonder – what is life really about?

They didn’t achieve all of their dreams either. Life just goes on. Honestly, what I’ve learned is that life does just go on until you die. My Grandmothers fight with Alzheimer’s is an eye opener. 86 years of life and she can’t remember any of it.

I sometimes wonder if life is worth living if we don’t matter to someone or something? If no one reads or visits, then what?

Sorry, I’m tired and frustrated now. Time for bed, my rant is over….

  9. Jeremy says:

Hi Scott – it might be better if I move this conversation to email – but I will send a response here – then we should continue this conversation via email – you can use my contact page.

Two questions for you to consider and respond back with:

    1. Is the way your life is right now what you really want?
    2. What do you spend most of your time focusing on?

  10. Valerie M says:

Done! Great idea. I’d love to see a great big list of some of the challenges (even if anonymously) — I think it would prove to be a lot of motivation for all readers to see people who are trying to make big moves in their lives.

  11. Jeremy says:

Hey Valerie – so far I’ve received 4 responses, that’s a good start :) I will do a follow up post with some of the top challenges in the future. Thanks!

  12. Jeremy says:

Had some great responses to this so far from some college students I will be speaking to in a week. Excellent.

  13. Scott Barron says:

    Hi Jeremy:

I wrote a little article about the Favicon, which we discussed above.

I linked to our conversation here, and your website in my article.

I don’t see a specific backlink code here, let me know if this is okay?

    http://www.scottbarrononline.com/the-favicon-story.html

    Thanks!
    Scott

  14. Scott Barron says:

Yes, that’s the link I used. Does it count as a “trackback”? I know that some “trackbacks” have to be approved by the website owner and take awhile to post.

Anyway, I always appreciate your help and support. I see your J favicon is back in business! Yeah!!
.-= Scott Barron´s last blog ..Ouch! Blogging Pains =-.

  15. Jeremy says:

Hmm, that’s a good question on trackbacks. I think I may have a setting that turns them off by default. I will check, but either way, thanks for linking, and I’m glad to help whenever you need it.

  16. Scott Barron says:

Did you see any errors or problems with the article? I would like to post it to my home page, but want your approval.

    Thanks for everything!!!!

  17. Scott Barron says:

It’s on my homepage now. I’m a little over cautious, I like to test a page first. I don’t know what Google thinks of that…

Do you know if moving something “to” or “from” a homepage matters in the Google & Alexa ranking? Will they loose sight of something?
.-= Scott Barron´s last blog ..Ouch! Blogging Pains =-.

    • Jeremy says:

If it’s just the content on your home page, I wouldn’t be too worried about it, especially with it being a blog where information changes regularly. I know many bloggers who have great rankings with a home page where the content changes frequently.
