A Few Daily Disciplines – Arise Early
Published July 5, 2010
Jim Rohn said that a few daily disciplines are all that is required to begin an extraordinary life. These are the little things like rising early and exercising or reading the informative books to increase your skills.
Part of my struggle I think is I fall short in my daily disciplines. It’s the little things like not getting up early and getting a good start to the day or regularly reading the books that are going to increase my skills. I’m going to chronicle the beginning of some daily disciplines that are currently lacking for me right now. As of right now, I don’t feel the spark I need to get going. I believe the daily disciplines are all that stand between me and getting the spark back. Maybe they are blocking you from getting where you want to go…
So what will the first daily discipline be? Simply put, waking up early and creating focus and inspiration for the day. Simply put, I’ll retire by 11 pm and wake up by 7 am. When I wake up, I will read and spend time getting cleaned up and ready for the day well before it begins. I’ll meditate and picture victories for the day. Right now I’m staying up far too late and waking up far too late. I can feel it too – the feeling of being run down and tired. This discipline will be done for 7 consecutive days. I’ll keep a tab on each day and if I miss one, I start over with discipline one, waking up early and creating inspiration for the day. When this discipline is achieved, I will continue it while adding another discipline which I shall share at that time. Wish me luck.
Daily discipline 1: Arise early and get prepared for the day well in advance.

Hi Faye – I hear you about the sleeping in working against you. When I sat down and really thought about it, my sleeping schedule and what I do in the mornings early is really the launching point for creating success in my life. Here’s to success for the both of us in getting our early morning rising under control.
