Writing Isn’t Perfect

Writing isn’t perfect – not by a long shot. I can write an article here and a day later disagree with half of what I’ve written. Or I can go back and edit the way I’ve said something. I’ve written emails and later thought – I don’t really believe what I just said or feel that way, why did I say it? Usually that happens when I say something because someone else would agree it’s the “right” thing to do.

This is part of writing – to know that what you’ve written probably won’t convey exactly how you feel and won’t be completely correct. But that’s not the point… The point is to write anyway and share what you do have. And it’s the little imperfections that are the good stuff in life. Write fearlessly for all to see.

I’ve written over 400 articles now. A few I’ve taken down after writing them because I didn’t quite feel right about what I’d written. I don’t know who reads them to be honest – probably about 50 to 100 people a day. It’s not much, but it is something. And I’m one of those readers who reads my own articles. Writing isn’t so much about influencing millions of people as it is honing your ability to express yourself using words and your language of choice. I write here on my website for others to see to make their own judgments of me and I write for the person it is making out of me to do so.
