You create who you are, like building a house, one brick at a time. You can take away bricks and add them through different thoughts and actions. Here’s a few examples of how this works.
When I was young, I was shy. Actually, I was paranoid. I was deathly afraid of talking to people, especially girls, because of the repercussions that might happen. I thought I might die or they might say they don’t like me and that my life would be over. My actions were very in-line with this thinking and as such, my shyness was immense.
Later on in life, I decided I would be someone who talked to people and was a leader and manager. This was hard at first because of how long I believed I was a shy person. But slowly, by talking to other people and speaking up and sharing opinions, I realized I could be outgoing and it was fun! As I’ve been doing this for a little while now, I see how I am changing who I am by talking to people each and every day – even just “hello”.
It is like building a brick house with your thoughts and actions. Guard each and every thought with fervor. Because each thought and action takes you closer to that thing which you are thinking and doing. Why not think something amazing? Why not do something spectacular? It’s a choice and not some miraculous event that occurs. Now, what are you waiting for? Go think and do some really amazing things?
